Job summary

Albyn Hospital in Aberdeen is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Theatre department on a full-time basis, 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern. This role is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading private healthcare provider.

You will assist the surgical team by preparing instruments, maintaining sterility, and supporting the Anaesthetist in equipment prep, patient monitoring and positioning, with post-operative care responsibility.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or ODP with theatre experience and sterile technique understanding.
• Experience or training in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery in a theatre.
• Knowledge of infection control, manual handling and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, maintain sterility and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Support the anaesthetist with equipment prep, monitoring and positioning.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor vital signs and pain.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient needs.
• Check equipment for faults and report issues promptly.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe lists.
