Job summary

Three Shires Hospital in Northampton, part of Circle Health Group, has a full-time Theatre Practitioner role (37.5 hours) offering a salary up to £38,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.

Join our staff in Theatres to assist surgical teams, maintain sterility, support anaesthetics and recovery, and contribute to a patient‑focused, collaborative environment with strong development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or ODP (HCPC) registration.
• Experience in a theatre environment specialising in scrub, anaesthetics, or recovery.
• Infection control, manual handling and patient safety knowledge.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safe surgical practice.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments, maintain sterility, anticipate surgeon needs and assist anaesthetist and recovery; monitor patients post‑op.
• Adhere to infection control policies and procedures at all times.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check surgical and anaesthetic equipment before use and report faults.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, efficient surgical lists.
• Support a positive, respectful and efficient theatre environment.
