Job summary

NHS Orkney invites applications for Registered Nurses or Operating Department Practitioners to join our Theatre team on a bank basis, supporting anaesthetic, scrub, circulating and recovery duties for patients. The post is based at The Balfour with part-time hours and a fixed-term of nine months.

Bank staff help maintain service continuity; availability for on-call within 25 minutes of notification is required.

Qualifications

• Post registration nursing experience in a Theatre setting in at least two of the four disciplines: anaesthetics, recovery, scrub and circulating.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Support anaesthetic, scrub, circulating and recovery duties for patients.
• Deliver high standards of care for Day Unit and Theatre patients.
• Participate in out-of-hours on-call service from The Balfour.
