Are you a skilled and dedicated Theatre Practitioner who is looking to work in a modern and supportive environment? Are you looking for a strong work life balance? Do you want to take a stepping stone into private healthcare without a long-term commitment?

At KIMS Hospital, we are proud to be an AFPP-accredited theatres team, committed to maintaining the highest standards in surgical practice. We are looking for an experienced and motivated Theatre Practitioner to join our bank staff team. This is a flexible role, working across anaesthetics, scrub, or recovery, ensuring top-quality clinical care and safety for patients within the theatre unit.

As a Theatre Practitioner, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team, with a focus on delivering excellent healthcare. You will be an experienced ODP or Theatre Nurse, driven by a passion for patient care, and eager to contribute to a high-performing team.

This is a bank role on a zero-hours contract, offering shifts between Monday and Saturday (07:30 – 18:00).

Role Responsibilities

  • Assess patient care requirements independently and act as a resource for other staff, implementing care and evaluating outcomes.
  • Undertake all safety checks to a high standard and document appropriately.
  • Work flexibly across anaesthetics, scrub, and recovery, depending on the department's needs.
  • Ensure the highest standards of infection prevention and control are maintained.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to facilitate cohesive teamwork.

Person Specification

  • Registered Practitioner (RN or ODP).
  • A minimum of two years' post-registration clinical experience as an anaesthetic, scrub, or recovery theatre practitioner in an acute hospital (NHS or independent).
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance and its application.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and a commitment to personal growth.
  • Passionate about providing exceptional patient care.

Are You the Right Fit for This Role?

To help us ensure this role suits your skills and career aspirations, consider these questions:

  • Do you have experience working across multiple theatre disciplines (anaesthetics, scrub, recovery)?
  • How do you ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety in your practice?
  • What excites you most about the opportunity to work as part of an AFPP-accredited theatres team?
  • Are you comfortable with flexible, zero-hours contracts and working across a range of shifts?
  • How do you manage your professional development and keep up with the latest clinical practices?
