Job summary

Circle Health Group's Fairfield Independent Hospital in St Helens is seeking a Theatre Practitioner to join the Recovery & Anaesthetics team. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with a permanent contract and a salary up to £40,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Theatre Practitioner will support the surgical team, assist anaesthetics, maintain sterility, monitor patients, and contribute to safe discharge readiness.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC) registration.
• Experience in theatre environment specialising in anaesthetics and recovery.
• Understanding of infection control and patient safety principles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instruments and maintain sterility in the theatre.
• Assist the surgical team and anaesthetist with equipment, monitoring and patient positioning.
• Provide post-operative care, monitor vitals, manage pain and nausea, discharge readiness.
• Set up operating theatres according to surgery type and patient requirements.
• Check equipment prior to use and report faults.
• Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe lists and efficient theatre environment.
