Spire Bushey Hospital is seeking an experienced Theatre Manager to lead the theatre department across our four-site group, ensuring safe, efficient operations and alignment with Spire targets. You will line-manage the theatre team, oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews and incident handling, and ensure GDPR-compliant patient information and high-quality care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the department to meet KPIs, ensuring safe and efficient running
• Manage department skill mix to deliver safe, person-centred care
• Provide mentorship and clinical supervision for learning and development
• Oversee theatre team recruitment, induction, mandatory training, and performance reviews
• Maintain staff personal files, including leave, training and absence records
• Resolve complaints and patient feedback under policy and lead improvement action plans
• Ensure GDPR-compliant handling of patient information

Job description

Theatre Manager post leading the theatre department at Spire Bushey Hospital, a private hospital, for an experienced manager. The work centres on running the department safely and efficiently against Spire targets, line managing the team, and handling complaints. The theatre covers many specialties, from orthopaedics to spinal surgery, within a four-site group. Current NMC or HCPC registration as a nurse or operating department practitioner is required.

What the job involves

• Lead the department to meet Spire key performance indicators, ensuring efficient and safe running
• Set an example as a role model and manage the department skill mix to deliver safe, person-centred care
• Provide mentorship, clinical supervision and an environment that supports colleagues' learning and development
• Manage the theatre team, including recruitment, induction, mandatory training, performance reviews, discipline and grievance
• Maintain complete and up-to-date staff personal files, including leave, training and absence records
• Resolve complaints and patient feedback under Spire policy and lead action plans to improve patient and carer experience
• Provide, receive and record patient information in line with GDPR and Spire policies
