Would you like to join an amazing team providing care to patients in the Evelina Theatres?

We are recruiting a Band 2 Theatre Health Care Assistant (HCA) to work in Evelina operating theatres. We aim to develop your skills and qualifications during your employment.

Children's Surgery, Theatres and Anaesthesia (CSTA) is a large directorate comprising theatres and associated clinical areas. This role will be focused in Evelina Theatres, where you will train to be an integral member of the peri-operative team.

Your main responsibilities will include:

1. Moving patients to and from the operating theatre.
2. Assisting in setting up surgical equipment, transporting and storing sterile instruments and supplies, and conducting regular inventory checks to report shortages.
3. Acting as a circulating assistant, supporting the surgical team, cleaning and tidying theatre areas after surgery, and disposing of waste safely. This will require moderate physical effort.
4. Assisting trained staff in the peri-operative environment.
5. Communicating sensitively and courteously with patients, their families, and all members of the multidisciplinary team.
