Job summary

Design Consulting GmbH is seeking an experienced Resident Testing Engineer for an on-site role in Crewe, UK. The successful candidate will execute tests on BT/vehicle systems, analyse data, and work closely with Bentley teams to reproduce, troubleshoot and report results.

The role requires minimum 2 years in automotive testing, strong expertise in CAN tools and ECUs, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on site in Crewe.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of Comfort Electronics, Interior Lighting Electronics, BCM, Door ECUs and Climate Control ECUs.
• Experience with vehicle test benches and ECU flashing or parameterisation is advantageous.
• Experience within Bentley development environments or Bentley programmes is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute and analyse tests on vehicles and test benches at system, function and component level.

• Produce detailed test reports and technical documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and propose technical countermeasures.

Design Consulting is seeking an experienced Resident Testing Engineer to join a prestigious automotive programme in Crewe, UK. We are looking for a professional with proven experience working within Bentley development environments or programmes. This experience is considered a key requirement for the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute and analyse tests on vehicles and test benches at system, function and component level.
• Reproduce, investigate and troubleshoot vehicle electronic issues.
• Produce detailed test reports and technical documentation.
• Support root cause analysis and propose technical countermeasures.
• Provide technical support for ECU flashing, parameterisation and diagnostic activities.
• Coordinate technical activities with cross-functional teams.
• Track and manage software releases.
• Ensure timely reporting of project and testing status.
• Previous experience working on Bentley projects, vehicles, systems or within Bentley engineering organisations.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the automotive sector.
• Strong knowledge of Comfort Electronics, Interior Lighting Electronics, BCM, Door ECUs and Climate Control ECUs.
• Experience with Vector CANoe, CANalyzer, CANape, OBD Diagnostic Tools and Data Loggers.
• Good understanding of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Automotive Ethernet.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in premium or luxury automotive programmes.
• Ability to work independently in a customer-facing environment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Resident position based in Crewe, United Kingdom.
• Availability to travel to engineering sites and partner locations when required.
