Job summary

Tata Technologies in Gaydon is seeking a Test Engineer to plan, execute and report verification activities for vehicle systems and software. The role involves developing test specifications, preparing environments and performing manual and automated tests across simulators and real vehicles.

You will review requirements, raise defects with reproducible evidence and support root-cause investigations while contributing to test automation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, software, automotive or test engineering.
• System or vehicle test experience.
• Requirements-based test development and execution experience.
• Knowledge of automotive networks and electronic systems.
• Strong defect reporting, data analysis and troubleshooting capability.
• HIL/SIL, vehicle or automated test experience.

Responsibilities

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Scope of Role

Plan, execute and report verification and validation activities for vehicle systems, software and electronic components across simulation, bench, rig and vehicle environments.

• Review requirements and develop test specifications, procedures and traceability.
• Prepare test environments, configurations, equipment and data acquisition.
• Execute manual and automated functional, network and system tests.
• Perform tests on SIL, HIL, rigs, lab cars and vehicles as applicable.
• Capture logs, traces and measurements and assess acceptance criteria.
• Raise defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence.
• Support root cause investigation, retest and regression activities.
• Maintain test coverage, execution status and validation reports.
• Support test automation and continuous improvement.
• Degree or equivalent experience in electrical, electronic, software, automotive or test engineering.
