Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is seeking a hands-on Test & Validation Technician to join its production team. You will test, inspect and verify units against specifications and quality standards, working with Production, Engineering and Quality teams.

You will perform FAT testing, diagnostics and maintain test records, with opportunities to develop skills across mechanical, electrical and integrated systems in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a manufacturing, production or testing environment.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical specifications.
• Experience with FAT, test equipment and analysing test results.
• Hands-on experience testing mechanical, electrical or integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning and readiness in line with production schedules.
• Review and contribute to test plans, procedures and work instructions.
• Carry out in-process, system-level and final FAT on assembled units.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical and integrated system testing.
• Perform inspections, fault finding and diagnostics, reporting issues.
• Identify and support NCR resolution and ensure quality gates.
• Maintain test records, reports and traceability documentation.
• Communicate test progress and results to stakeholders.
• Calibrate and maintain test equipment; support day/night shifts.

Yolk Recruitment is supporting a specialist engineering and manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Test & Validation Technician to join its production team. This is a hands‑on opportunity for a Test Technician, Validation Technician or experienced engineering technician with a background in system testing, fault finding and inspection, working across mechanical, electrical and integrated systems to ensure products meet required standards before delivery.

The Role

As a Test & Validation Technician, you will be responsible for testing, inspecting and verifying assembled units against engineering specifications, quality standards and customer requirements.

Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality teams, you will carry out system‑level testing, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), inspections and diagnostics, while maintaining accurate test records and supporting the resolution of any issues identified.

The role is hands‑on and production‑focused, with the opportunity to develop your technical skills across a range of testing and validation activities.

Key responsibilities:

• Support test planning and readiness in line with production schedules and project milestones.
• Review and contribute to test plans, procedures and work instructions.
• Carry out in‑process, system‑level and final acceptance testing (FAT) on assembled units.
• Conduct mechanical, electrical and integrated system testing.
• Perform product inspections, fault finding and diagnostics, clearly reporting any issues identified.
• Identify, raise and support the resolution of non‑conformances (NCRs).
• Ensure products meet defined quality gates before progression or delivery.
• Maintain accurate test records, reports, certification packs and traceability documentation.
• Communicate test progress, issues and results to relevant stakeholders.
• Maintain and calibrate test equipment and instrumentation as required.
• Support shift‑based working where required, including day/night rotation.
