Job description

Job Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to manage the Hipotronics test area in Reading, PA. This includes being the lead tester of Hipotronics high voltage products in the factory, while also providing production support when required. Additionally, this role offers technical assistance to customers in installation, startup, maintenance, repair, and training of high voltage test and measurement equipment.

A Day In The Life

The following roles and responsibilities are required to fulfill the position and are not exhaustive:

  • Leads the Hipotronics test area, ensuring an efficient test schedule and a clean, safe environment.
  • Leads all production and onsite testing for GTC/Hipo manufacturing to ensure products are assembled correctly and test steps are properly executed prior to final testing.
  • Provides technical guidance on production processes, including processing HV tanks, lugging, soldering, schematic reviews, and work instructions.
  • Facilitates communication between production and engineering to ensure proper assembly and testing of products.
  • Mentors and provides technical guidance to all test technicians at the GTC Reading facility.
  • Supports customers via phone and email, understanding their requirements and resolving issues.
  • Supports the service group by providing part numbers for quoting, searching BOMs in SAP, and identifying parts.
  • Performs all final tests to ensure equipment operates according to engineering specifications, making adjustments as necessary, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Conducts final tests on new systems and generates corresponding documentation for customers.
  • Performs other duties as required.
What Will Help You Thrive in This Role
  • 2-year degree in a technical field required.
  • Preferred 5+ years' experience in testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating analog and digital control metering circuits.
  • Preferred experience reading schematics and working with handheld tools and test instruments.
  • Willingness to travel to customers on short notice (25-30%) for technical support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibrations.
  • Experience interfacing with customers.
  • Excellent time management, organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external customers.
  • Occasional bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 lbs. required.
  • Ability to work at heights.
