Job Overview

The Field Service Technician provides after-sales support for Hipotronics equipment while promoting and growing our service business. This includes remote assistance, onsite installation, maintenance, repair, and training of Hipotronics high voltage test systems. Additionally, the role involves testing, in-house repair, and calibration at our Reading, PA factory.

A Day In The Life

Every day at Hubbell is different, and you'll contribute in many ways. On any given day, you'll:

1. Support customers via phone and email, understand their requirements, and help resolve issues.
2. Perform final tests to ensure equipment operates as per engineering specifications, make adjustments, and prepare detailed reports with test results.
3. Conduct final tests on new systems and existing equipment onsite, generating test and calibration documentation for customers.
4. Provide technical support to customers via phone, email, and onsite as needed.
5. Promote and grow service sales through offerings like HipoDirect, Preventative Maintenance, upgrades, calibration, and repairs.
6. Collaborate with the sales team to identify new market opportunities and provide VOC feedback to engineering and sales teams for product development.
7. Travel to our Reading, PA factory as needed (~1 week per month).
8. Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications for Success

• 2-year degree in electrical/electronic technology with 3-4 years of testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating analog and digital circuits, or BSEE with 1-2 years of experience.
• Ability to read schematics, proficient with hand tools and test instruments.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
• Experience interfacing with customers.
• Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Comfortable interacting with all levels of internal and external customers.
• Ability to work at heights.
• Willingness to travel domestically 25-35%.
