Job description

The Vacancy

WRc are looking for a Test Technician to join them based in Swindon. You would be part of the existing technical team working across a number of different business areas in the WRc Engineering division including metering and flow measurement, pollution prevention and technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out testing on water meters and other products to agreed protocols and standards.
  • Recording the results of testing by a variety of means, including data loggers and/or manual recording.
  • Helping ensure that our test facilities are well maintained and supported.
  • Carrying out in house calibrations of other equipment using secondary standards
  • Assisting in developing and building test rigs for specific needs
  • Preparing equipment for field deployment
  • Occasional field work


Person Specification:

  • Experience of working in a laboratory or engineering environment (desirable)
  • Experience with pipes, pumps and other water related equipment (desirable)
  • Familiar with dealing with contractors and specialist service providers (desirable)
  • Practical skills and experience using hand tools and cutting equipment
  • Adaptability with a can do attitude
  • Ability to work methodically and follow defined procedures.
  • Strong awareness of health and safety
  • Understand the importance of equipment calibration.
  • Works well within a team


Salary & Benefits:

  • £25,000 - £30,000 based on experience
