Job summary

First Base Employment in Coleford is seeking a mechanically skilled Tester / Rigger to rig and test pumps, record data, and ensure safety. You will be part of the Test team, conducting tests in line with procedures and customer requirements.

The role involves performing testing in front of customers and third-party inspectors, and working a double-day shift on the shop floor. A recognised apprenticeship or-equivalent qualification is preferred.

• Min 2 years' mechanical experience and practical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Rig pumps in readiness for testing.

• Coordinate with Production/Team Leaders and Senior Test Engineers.

Tester / Rigger 7022

Location: Coleford, Gloucestershire
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Double Days
Salary:Competitive DOE
Type: Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a mechanically experienced Tester / Rigger to join an established engineering and manufacturing business based in Coleford.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Test team, rigging and testing pumps in line with defined test procedures and customer requirements. The position will also involve carrying out testing in front of customers and third-party inspectors.

Key Responsibilities of a Tester / Rigger:

• Rig pumps ready for testing
• Carry out performance testing in line with relevant procedures and customer requirements
• Accurately record test data and results
• Assess test results and determine whether pumps pass or fail the required testing
• Communicate test results and any issues to relevant team members
• Liaise with Production Managers, Team Leaders and Senior Test Engineers
• Work closely with other members of the Test team throughout the shift
• Communicate effectively across other departments where required
• Use test equipment correctly and carefully to prevent damage to equipment and pumps
• Follow all relevant Health & Safety procedures
• Maintain high standards of safety within the testing environment

Key Skills of a Tester / Rigger:

• Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship OR
• A minimum of 2 years' mechanical experience
• Good practical mechanical knowledge
• Comfortable working within a hands-on engineering environment
• Ability to follow technical procedures accurately
• Good attention to detail when recording test data
• Strong communication skills

This is primarily a shop-floor based position working a double-day shift pattern. Appropriate PPE must be worn within the working environment.
