Job summary

First Base Employment in Coleford is seeking a mechanically skilled Tester / Rigger to rig and test pumps, record data, and ensure safety. You will be part of the Test team, conducting tests in line with procedures and customer requirements.

The role involves performing testing in front of customers and third-party inspectors, and working a double-day shift on the shop floor. A recognised apprenticeship or-equivalent qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Min 2 years' mechanical experience and practical knowledge.
• Hands-on engineering environment familiarity.
• Ability to follow technical procedures accurately.
• Strong data recording and communication skills.
• Good health and safety awareness on site.

Responsibilities

• Rig pumps in readiness for testing.
• Perform performance testing per procedures and customer specs.
• Record data and results accurately.
• Assess pass/fail against test criteria and report outcomes.
• Communicate results and issues to the team.
• Coordinate with Production/Team Leaders and Senior Test Engineers.
