Job summary

Pearson Whiffin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Test Engineer for a 6-month contract in Swindon with hybrid working. The role involves hands-on test automation, network validation and service assurance across complex deployment and migration activities.

You will own automated testing and validation throughout the change lifecycle, helping ensure deployments are secure, stable and production-ready. Strong experience with pyATS and CI/CD pipelines is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and scripts integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform pre-change and post-change validation across deployments and migrations.
• Act as pipeline gatekeeper to ensure deployments meet defined validation criteria.
• Develop and maintain pyATS-based validation suites to verify network state, configuration and behaviour.
• Conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments ahead of go-live.
• Support Root Cause Analysis across network, platform, performance and functional issues.
• Produce structured test reports and evidence packs for audit and governance.
• Collaborate with automation, platform, network and security teams for end-to-end service assurance.
• Participate in migration windows and change bridges with live validation and monitoring.

Test Engineer 6 Month Contract Swindon / Hybrid

We re looking for an experienced Test Engineer to join a major technology programme, providing hands-on test automation, network validation and service assurance across complex deployment and migration activities.

3 days per week onsite taking ownership of automated testing and validation throughout the change lifecycle, helping ensure deployments are secure, stable and ready to progress into production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts, integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
• Performing pre-change and post-change validation across deployment and migration activities
• Acting as a pipeline gatekeeper, ensuring deployments only progress when defined validation criteria are met
• Developing and maintaining pyATS-based validation suites to verify network state, configuration and behaviour
• Conducting penetration testing and vulnerability assessments ahead of go-live
• Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) across network, platform, performance and functional issues
• Producing structured test reports and evidence packs for audit, regulatory and change-governance requirements
• Working closely with automation, platform, network and security engineering teams to provide end-to-end service assurance
• Participating in migration windows and change bridges, providing live validation and monitoring during deployments
