Job summary

MTrec Limited is seeking a permanent Test Engineer to strengthen the team. The role focuses on preparing 2D drawings for review and manufacturing, assisting with test documentation, and supporting QA systems and calibration activities.

You will participate in product testing and maintain clear project records. Ideal candidates will have an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent, ideally ONC/HNC, and experience in engineering or manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and producing technical drawings and documents.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and MS Office tools.
• Familiarity with quality assurance processes and documentation.
• Relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or technical environments preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 2D engineering drawings for customer review and manufacturing.

The Job You’ll Do:

• Preparation of 2D engineering drawings for both customer review and subsequent manufacturing.
• Assist with the preparation of test documentation and test reports.
• Maintenance of internal QA systems such as equipment calibration.
• Participate in product testing programmes alongside other test personnel.
• Maintain accurate project records and provide clear internal progress updates where required.

About You:

• Recognised engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent experience, in a mechanical engineering discipline.
• Ideally qualified ONC/HNC or better.
• Experienced in an engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, or technical environment is preferred.
• Ability to read and produce technical drawings and other similar documents.
• Working knowledge of applicable engineering standards and safe working practices.
• Competence with standard office software (Microsoft Office), in particular, engineering drafting software (AutoCAD preferred).
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Practical, safety-focused, and improvement-minded approach.
