Job summary

MTrec Recruitment is seeking a skilled Assembly & Test Technician to support the build, calibration, and testing of complex electrical and electronic systems at our site. This hands-on role ensures products are assembled, tested, and maintained to high quality standards, with occasional customer interaction and collaboration with engineers.

Responsibilities include interpreting engineering drawings, performing precision tests, recording data, and helping develop improved procedures.

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience in electrical or electronic assembly and testing.
  • Ability to follow technical drawings and specifications accurately.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks or workflows simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of quality and regulatory standards.
  • Basic planning and organisational skills.
  • Experience working in regulated or high-compliance industries would be an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project.
  • Experience supporting technical products or services for external customers.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (Level 3 or higher) preferred OR equivalent hands-on experience in a similar role.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and quality.
  • Practical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable and organised, with good time management skills.

  • Diagnose faults and support repair and maintenance activities.
  • Work from engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Record and document test results and performance data.
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support engineers in developing and improving assembly and test procedures.
  • Contribute to product quality improvements and process efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and handling of components.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during build and test stages.
  • Work closely with engineers, technicians, and operations teams.
  • Occasionally liaise with customers or external partners to support technical requirements.
  • Plan and manage your own tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Produce clear documentation using Microsoft Office tools.
