Job summary

Safran is a leading aerospace and defence group committed to innovative, high-quality solutions. This Test Engineer role in Cwmbran, South Wales, is on site and focuses on validating aircraft interior products through cyclic and static testing in our advanced laboratories.

You will support test rigs, review plans, and collaborate with Design, Certification and Stress teams while preparing detailed reports and driving continuous improvement in test setups.

Qualifications

• Technical qualifications (or comparable aerospace industry experience).
• Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatic & hydraulic systems.
• PLC programming knowledge - Ladder Logic.
• Technical report writing & strong data manipulation skills.
• Familiar with utilisation/calibration of testing instruments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document cyclic and static tests on aircraft interior products.
• Support both static and automated cyclic test rigs, using actuators, PLCs, sensors, and more.
• Review test plans provided by cross-functional teams; support compliance and root cause investigations.
• Liaise with Design, Certification, and Stress teams as well as with external partners and visitors.
• Apply analytical thinking to test set-up improvements and feedback for continuous excellence.
• Prepare technical reports and manage test data efficiently.

Your Role

As a Test Engineer in our State-of-the-Art Laboratories, you will:

What You'll Bring

Essential:

• Technical qualifications (or comparable aerospace industry experience)
• Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatic & hydraulic systems
• PLC programming knowledge - Ladder Logic
• Technical report writing & strong data manipulation skills
• Familiar with utilisation/calibration of testing instruments

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of cyclic/static test methods
• Experience interpreting test plans and standards
