Job summary

Apex Resource Management is seeking a Test Engineer in Crewe for an onsite role focused on integration, testing, and validation of vehicle systems across Telematics, Connectivity, Infotainment and Diagnostics.

The role combines hands-on vehicle work with system testing, fault investigation and test automation using Python, Robot Framework and Anna Framework. Strong logs analysis and collaboration across suppliers are essential.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with vehicles from dealership, OEM, or automotive environment.
• Familiarity with vehicle software and test benches.
• Experience working with different vehicle components on a test bench.
• Familiarity with the vehicle lifecycle and associated software processes.
• Practical technician skillset with capability to work on vehicles.
• Experience of vehicle/system testing, integration and fault investigation.
• Ability to analyse vehicle logs and support root cause investigation.
• Knowledge of test automation using Python, Robot Framework and/or Anna Framework.
• Full driving licence.

• Capture and specify system integration and test requirements.
• Support test planning and validation activities to ensure systems and components achieve required quality targets.
• Plan and manage project-related activities on a weekly basis.
• Report project status and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
• Investigate complex system test and integration challenges using company tools.
• Analyse vehicle logs and manage integration issues to establish root causes and deliver effective solutions.
• Conduct requirements analysis and develop comprehensive test approaches.
• Automate testing using Python, Robot Framework and Anna Framework.
• Maintain and document test environment configurations.
• Work effectively within functional teams and contribute towards shared objectives.

Test Engineer

Location: Crewe, fully onsite. Contract: Outside IR35 | Until 23rd Dec. 2026. Hours: 35 hours per week

Role Summary

We are recruiting for a Test Engineer to support the integration, testing and validation of vehicle systems across Telematics, Connectivity, Infotainment and Diagnostics.

This hands-on position will involve working directly with vehicles, test rigs, test benches and vehicle software, supporting the continuous construction and maintenance of test properties. The role combines practical vehicle and technician-level capability with system testing, fault investigation, requirements analysis and test automation.

The Test Engineer will work with functional teams and suppliers to identify integration issues, analyse vehicle logs and support the delivery of robust technical solutions.
