Job summary

Expleo is seeking an on-site Vehicle Technician to support a leading automotive manufacturer at a Bedfordshire testing facility. The role is a three-month contract, outside IR35, focusing on vehicle research and development within Vehicle Testing.

You will prepare vehicles for test usage, evaluate performance, and assist with assembly/disassembly for dynamic testing while maintaining safety checks and fault-finding efforts, liaising with engineers and documenting results.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in an automotive environment with diagnostics, servicing and repairs.
• Include knowledge in vehicle testing and test equipment where applicable.
• Effective communication with engineers and test teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare vehicles and parts for test use and special applications.
• Assess and report on vehicle performance against criteria.
• Assemble/disassemble components for static and dynamic tests.
• Maintain vehicles including safety checks, retrofit, fault finding and repairs.
• Coordinate with engineers to conduct tests per client SOPs and procedures.
• Set up instrumentation and write test reports.

Are you seeking a new opportunity as a Vehicle Technician?

Expleo is actively recruiting skilled Vehicle Technicians to join our team, on-site with a prominent automotive manufacturer. In this contract position, you’ll play a vital role in supporting vehicle research and development within Vehicle Testing. Based at our client’s Test and Development facility in Bedfordshire, this contract will initially be for three months and is able to be offered Outside of IR35.

Vehicle Technician will be responsible for:

• Preparation of vehicles and parts for special uses including Test use
• Evaluation of vehicle performance according to set criteria
• Assembly and dis-assembly of parts, components, or vehicles for static and dynamic test activities
• Maintenance of vehicles to include safety check, retrofit, fault finding and repair
• Liaising with engineers to conduct tests to our clients standard and local operating procedures
• Instrumentation set‑up and report writing

Essential skills of the Vehicle Technician:

• IMI Level 3 Qualification (or equivalent Level 3 certification in vehicle maintenance and repair)
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Proven Experience in an Automotive Environment with hands‑on expertise with vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs
• Ideally a background in Emissions Testing or Electrical Testing including Connected Car is preferred but not essential
