Job summary

Rolls-Royce in Solihull is seeking a Test Development Engineer focusing on Electronics to design and deliver test platforms and software/hardware for aerospace and military testing. You will define system requirements, coordinate with project leads, and ensure fault-free operation of test rigs and equipment.

The role requires a degree in Electronic Engineering, strong programming skills (C, C#, TestStand, LabVIEW, Python) and hands-on test hardware experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent with working knowledge of electronic test equipment.
• Proficient in C, C#, TestStand, LabVIEW and Python.
• Experience with electronics hardware testing and data analytics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Develop electronics test platforms and applications for aerospace and military products.
• Review test requirements and define Electrical/Electronic/Software systems to meet current and future demands.
• Coordinate with Electronics Test management and project leads to ensure planning, build and commissioning align with requirements.
• Fault find test systems at rig and component levels and resolve issues to meet test requirements.
• Develop and document policies, procedures and technologies to ensure controlled development of test platforms and applications.

Discover more on our GBS Service Portal about hybrid working.What You Will Be DoingDevelopment of the Electronics Test platforms and applications; design and develop software and hardware required for testing aerospace and military products.Review test requirements and define Electrical, Electronic and Software systems that are capable of meeting current and future demands.Coordinate with Electronics Test management, and Technical Project Leads to ensure that planning, building, and commissioning are supported and that equipment is purchased in line with business requirements.Fault finding of test systems (at both rig level and test equipment component level), and provide support in resolving technical issues to ensure test requirements are met.Develop and document policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure that the development of test platforms and applications are carried out in a controlled way.Control of test system hardware design, internally and with external suppliers.
