Redline Group Ltd in Colchester, Essex is seeking a Test Development Engineer to design and support Automated Test Equipment (ATE) for high-performance embedded computing solutions used in aerospace, defence, telecommunications, industrial and other mission-critical markets. Hybrid working: 3 days onsite / 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Experience developing or supporting Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Design for Testability (DfT), Built-In Self-Test (BIST) and diagnostic methodologies.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies and switching hardware as test instrumentation.
• Strong fault-finding and root-cause analysis skills.
• Excellent documentation and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

• Define DfT requirements during new product development and PCB design reviews.
• Develop and maintain ATE requirements for new embedded hardware platforms.
• Design and specify ATE hardware including fixtures, ITAs, harnesses and interface electronics.
• Work with software to develop automated production test sequences and diagnostics.
• Support NPI, pilot builds and transition into volume manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot production test failures and perform root-cause investigations.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation including test procedures and schematics.
• Collaborate across hardware, firmware, software, manufacturing and quality teams to optimize test strategies.
