Job summary

AB Dynamics is seeking a Test and Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning and final test of track test products used in driver assistance systems. You will work in a small team within Operations, performing electrical and mechanical commissioning, fault diagnosis and testing to meet specifications.

The role involves lifting and moving large products on a trolley, loading/unloading a trailer, and requires good physical fitness and teamwork to ensure high quality results at test

Qualifications

  • Electrical or mechanical qualification or degree.
  • Experience of automotive electronics.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Electrical and mechanical commissioning of new builds and spare components.
  • Fault finding and servicing of existing products.
  • Performing functional tests on motors, braking and suspension components.
  • Hardware installation, software programming and testing.
  • Track testing of platforms and data capture of results.
  • Prepare finished product for shipping and final sign-off.

Roles Overview

We are looking for a Test and Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning and final test of our track test products. The track test electric vehicle products used in the development of driver assistance systems and automated driving. Working as part of a small team under the operations umbrella you will be commissioning and testing all aspects of the products along with fault finding and diagnosing any performance/ out of spec issues and providing support to close out any problems.

The role will involve taking the products to our test track where you will perform a series of specific tests to ensure the product conforms to our desired specification and delivers on all our customer requirements. The role does involve an element of lifting and moving large products around on a trolly along with loading and unloading a trailer, so requires the candidate to be physically fit.

Core Responsibilities
  • Electrical and mechanical commissioning of each new build and spares and warranty components.
  • Fault finding and servicing of existing products.
  • Performing functional tests on various components such as motors, breaking and suspension
  • Hardware instillation and software programming and testing
  • Track testing of platforms
  • Full system clean up
  • Documentation and data capture of all results
  • Preparing the finished product for shipping and final sign off.
What are we looking for?
Essential
  • Electrical or mechanical technical qualification, NVQ 3, or technical degree
  • Experience of automotive electronics
  • Microsoft proficient
Desirable
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 standards
  • IPC qualified.

  • Critical thinker with a good understanding of engineering
