Job summary

Gazelle Global Consulting Limited is seeking a Test Automation Architect to lead the testing strategy for a large-scale WMS transformation, shaping automation frameworks, improving test coverage and ensuring reliable integration across warehouse systems.

Based in Coventry with hybrid working, the contract is initial 6 months with potential extension, overseeing end-to-end automation, CI/CD integration and setting standards for tools and metrics.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and leading test automation strategies.

• WMS experience is highly beneficial.

Test Automation Architect

Location: Coventry, UK
Working Pattern: Hybrid - minimum 2 days per week in the office
Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential for extension

We're looking for a Test Automation Architect to lead the testing strategy for a large-scale Warehouse Management System (WMS) transformation programme. This is an opportunity to shape automation frameworks, improve test coverage and ensure reliable integration across complex warehouse and supply chain systems.

You’ll take ownership of the end-to-end automation approach, working closely with engineering, testing, DevOps and business teams to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the test automation strategy and architecture.
• Design reusable frameworks for UI, API and integration testing.
• Lead end-to-end automation across WMS and connected applications.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish automation standards, tools and best practices.
• Drive shift-left testing and continuous quality improvement.
• Oversee test data, environments, defect management and automation metrics.
• Provide technical guidance to automation engineers.

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong test automation architecture and framework design.
• Selenium, Cypress, Playwright or REST Assured.
• API and integration testing automation.
• Blue Yonder WMS or similar enterprise warehouse management platforms.
• Java, TypeScript, Python or JavaScript.
• Jenkins, Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
• Agile/SAFe, DevOps and cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.

Experience with WMS implementations, performance testing and data migration is also beneficial.
