Job description

Our Test and Inspection Engineers help ensure that electrical installations on both new and existing forecourts meet the required safety and compliance standards for potentially hazardous environments. They conduct thorough inspections of electrical equipment, verifying each item is built to the appropriate specifications and is free from defects.

What you'll do:

Following the client's specific H&S requirements, you will complete filling station (electrical) periodic inspection reports, installation condition reports, and perform remedial works as required following inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

• Certify installations in Petrol filling station Hazardous Areas, retail & commercial electrical installations, and electric vehicle service equipment.
• Fault finding and repair of electrical equipment.
• Conduct remedial and maintenance works when required.

The following skills and abilities will set you up for success:

• Knowledge of working in hazardous areas and retail installations is essential.
• Ability to read and understand design drawings and panel schematics.
• Ability to interpret test readings and identify defects.
• Safety conscious with recognized HSE training.
• Experience in a similar role (preferably 2-3 years).
• Confident in managing your workload and liaising directly with clients to notify of site attendance.
• Knowledge of filling station installations & procedures and/or electric vehicle equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
• Full clean Driving License.

Minimum Certification required:

• C&G 2391 Electrical Inspection (or equivalent).
• ECS Gold Card (valid).
• CSCS Card (valid).

Additional Certifications (training can be provided):

• C&G 2921-34 - Electric Vehicle Charging Installations or equivalent.
• CompEx (7&8 or 1-4).
• BS:7671:2018 As Amended.
• UKPIA certification.
