Job summary

Tesco PLC is looking for a Shift Lead to drive a great in-store experience. You will lead the team across store areas, be the go-to person for day-to-day queries, and foster inclusive relationships that help colleagues perform at their best.

You’ll step in for the Store Manager when needed, make balanced decisions, coach colleagues, and stay customer-focused in a fast-paced retail environment. Availability windows and 16-hour minimums are part of the role.

Tesco Shift Lead pay starts at £15.59 per hour, rising to £16.86 in stores within the M25. Some locations may offer additional payments. We guarantee a minimum of 16 hours per week, though roles from 12 hours are also available.

Your contracted hours will be scheduled within the availability windows shown, with at least 3 weeks' notice of your shifts. If your availability is close to what we're looking for, we still encourage you to apply.

You will be responsible for

• Experience working in a team lead or management position in a fast‑paced retail environment.
• Be a strong role model with a passion for delivering great service and ensuring every customer's needs are met.
• Build positive, long‑lasting relationships to create an inclusive, supportive team environment.
• A clear communicator, using a variety of methods to keep the team well informed.
• A natural leader who motivates and inspires the team to deliver outstanding results.
