Availability Window
The following times are the preferred weekly availability: Sun 06:00–13:00, Mon 06:00–13:00, Tue 06:00–13:00, Sat 06:00–13:00.

Pay The Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 per hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours per week. If you would like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would love to hear from you.

The availability windows shown are the periods during which we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and provide 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are flexible and welcome applicants whose available times closely match the advertised windows.

What you will be responsible for
  • Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; delivering great natural service
  • Being passionate and knowledgeable about the store’s products and services
  • Working across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas as required
  • Applying training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly
  • Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering in-store routines to meet customer needs
  • Participating in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere
  • Understanding the store’s performance and the role you play in driving service, sales, reducing waste and delivering profit
  • Handling products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition
  • Representing Tesco values and following policies
  • Occasionally assisting with deliveries into the store
