Job summary

Yewstock School in Dorset is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role supports pupils with complex needs (SLD/PMLD and ASD), helping them to thrive in learning and personal development.

The post is 32.5 hours per week, term time only (39 weeks), with full induction and ongoing training. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with staff and pupils and may provide personal care as required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is beneficial; full induction and training provided.
• Ability to build relationships with staff and pupils in a special school setting.
• Calm, therapeutic and positive approach to supporting pupil development.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with complex needs (SLD/PMLD/ASD) to thrive in learning and development.
• Engage pupils in learning and support social, emotional and personal wellbeing.
• Potentially provide personal/intimate care as required.
• Work as part of a friendly team and participate in weekly staff training.
