Job summary

UCEN Manchester is seeking a part-time Student Finance Officer to join the Future U Student Support Team. Based on our City Centre campus in Manchester, the role supports students with financial barriers during term-time (21 hours per week across 36 weeks).

You will administer financial support, hardship funds and discretionary aid, advising students throughout the application and payments process while working closely with wellbeing and academic support teams.

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum of Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics.
• Experience in administrative roles within HE or customer service.
• Ability to advise clearly and guide students and internal colleagues.
• Experience in multi-disciplinary teams and aligning work to team goals.
• Up-to-date knowledge of Higher Education student funding provision.
• Ability to build good working relationships with students and staff.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook; quick to learn new systems.
• Numeracy skills to manage financial queries and funding data.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly information, advice and guidance to students facing financial difficulties.
• Review applications for financial support and process payments.
• Help students understand available financial assistance and the application process.
• Collaborate with wellbeing, disability, academic support and curriculum teams to ensure joined-up support.
• Identify students who may need extra support and connect them with the right teams.
