Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment are seeking a Classroom Support Assistant to join specialist SEN schools across Romford and Waltham Forest, supporting pupils with PMLD and complex needs. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, assist with communication, sensory development, and independence, and deliver personalised learning activities in a calm, nurturing environment.

This full-time role is term-time only and offers ongoing training across a range of specialist settings, with DBS checks and

Qualifications

Experience with PMLD or complex SEN settings.
Experience in specialist schools, SEN provisions, care, healthcare or residential settings.
Ability to follow detailed care plans and EHCPs.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with PMLD and complex needs.
Support communication, sensory development, cognition and independence.
Deliver sensory, play-based and personalised learning activities.
Support pupils with physical disabilities, sensory impairments and complex health needs.
Assist with personal care, feeding and mobility where required.
Follow EHCPs, learning plans, care plans and health protocols.
Work closely with teachers, therapists and other specialist professionals.
Monitor pupil engagement, development and progress.
Help create a calm, safe and nurturing learning environment.
