Job summary

Veritas Education is seeking a patient, resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join specialist SEN schools in Romford and Waltham Forest. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs, helping with emotional regulation and learning engagement.

Ideal candidates have school-based experience, strong behaviour management, and excellent teamwork. A valid DBS for both children and adults is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with SEMH, ASD, ADHD or challenging behaviour.
• Experience in school, alternative provision, youth work or support settings.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to build positive relationships and act as a role model.
• Valid Child and Adult DBS essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with behavioural and learning needs.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation, social skills and positive behaviour strategies.
• Build positive relationships to encourage engagement in learning.
• Implement behaviour plans and EHCP targets.
• De-escalate challenging situations with a calm approach.
• Support pupils inside and outside the classroom.
