Job summary

Academics is working with a Crawley-based mainstream secondary school to recruit a Secondary Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with reading and writing and help break down tasks, along with some pastoral duties.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff, ensuring safety, preparing activities and fostering an engaging learning environment. DBS check is provided; GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) are required. Term-time only with permanent opportunities available.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Ensure that equipment and facilities are safe for the children to use.
• Prepare activities and tidy away after sessions.
• Develop an understanding with each child to maintain an optimal learning environment.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.
