Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Secondary Science Teacher to join its network of supportive local secondary schools. Qualified Science Teachers (QTS/ECTs) will deliver high‑quality biology, chemistry or physics lessons, lead practicals, and help students develop scientific thinking.

The role offers term-time, full-time or part-time flexibility with competitive daily pay (£140–£233) and the opportunity to gain diverse classroom experience across multiple schools.

Qualifications

• Hold QTS or equivalent qualification (ECTs encouraged).
• Degree in a Science-related field (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science).
• Engaging communicator with ability to build rapport with teenagers.
• DBS check on the update service or willing to apply for DBS clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, covering core biology, chemistry, physics topics.
• Deliver engaging demonstrations and theory-based lessons with practicals.
• Support GCSE & A-Level preparation, focusing on practicals and data analysis.
• Differentiate instruction to support SEND or EAL learners while maintaining safety in the lab.
