Job summary

Educators is seeking a dedicated Caretaker to support day-to-day management of our school site in Neath. The role covers opening/locking, safety checks, minor repairs, and coordinating with contractors.

Working hours are 37 per week across 39 weeks (term time only) with a two-weekly shift pattern. The salary is Grade 4, SCP 5-6, £22,832 pro rata, with term-time adjustments. Flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school premises, including keys and alarm systems.
• Carrying out daily checks of buildings and grounds.
• Undertaking minor repairs and routine maintenance.
• Identifying and reporting defects and arranging repairs.
• Ensuring the site is safe and well maintained.
• Supporting health and safety, fire safety, and site security procedures.
• Maintaining records and monitoring building services.
• Supporting contractors and grounds maintenance.
• Responding to emergencies and security issues.
• Assisting with movements of furniture, deliveries and events.
• Providing training relevant to the role.
