Job summary

Victoria Infant and Nursery School in Barrow-in-Furness is seeking a part-time Midday Supervisor to supervise pupils at lunch, ensuring safety, welfare and good conduct in line with school policies.

The role is 8 hours 45 minutes per week during term time (38 weeks), 11.30am–1.15pm, with training provided and safeguarding checks required; permanent contract subject to induction and enhanced DBS checks.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working within a school, or with children, is desirable but not essential.
• Training will be given where required.
• Safeguarding and pre-employment checks will be carried out.

Responsibilities

• supervise pupils during lunch break in designated areas to ensure safety, welfare and conduct in line with school policies.
• prepare children for lunchtime, escort to and from dining hall, assist during meals and tidy tables.
• supervise play in the playground, manage minor behaviour incidents, and assist with first aid if needed.
• be aware of health and safety procedures including fire drills and safeguarding requirements.
