Job summary

Devon County Council is seeking a reliable Catering Assistant to join a friendly school team in Awliscombe, Devon. You will collect prepared meals from a neighbouring school, transport them safely, and serve lunches to pupils while upholding high food hygiene standards.

This term-time role is 2 hours per day, Monday to Friday, from 11:15am to 1:15pm. Training including food hygiene will be provided, and safeguarding responsibilities are emphasised.

Qualifications

• Must be reliable, punctual and well organised.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must have access to own vehicle and hold a full, valid driving licence.
• Understands safeguarding and the welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport meals from a neighbouring school.
• Prepare and serve meals to pupils.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene.
• Set up and clear away the serving area.
• Wash up and carry out general kitchen duties as required.
• Provide a friendly, welcoming dining experience for children.
