Job summary

Davenant Foundation School is hiring an assistant librarian to support the school library during term time, four days per week. The role focuses on cataloguing, resource preparation, stock management and creating displays for students aged 11–19. The post requires strong pastoral awareness and a DBS check.

Applicants should have solid ICT skills, good organisation and a patient, team-oriented approach. Flexible duties may be required as part of a busy school library team.

Qualifications

• Proven ability working with students aged 11–19, particularly 16–19-year-olds.
• Experience maintaining high behaviour levels with all students alongside pastoral relationships.
• Understanding of and commitment to the school's ethos and values.

Responsibilities

• Catalogue library resources
• Prepare new resources for the library
• Manage library stock

• Carry out general library administration
• Undertake tasks as directed, within the grade of the post
