Job summary

Caterlink is hiring an experienced Secondary School Chef Manager in the Middlesbrough area. The role is term-time only with no weekends, offering 37.5 hours per week from Monday to Friday and 38 teaching weeks per year.

The post requires NVQ Cookery Level 3 or equivalent and Health & Safety Level 2. You will lead kitchen operations, supervise staff, manage inventories and budgets, and act as the main client contact in the school.

Qualifications

• Role requires leadership and management of kitchen operations.
• Experience in health and safety compliance is essential.
• Ability to train and develop staff and manage KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure Health & Safety, Food Safety and environmental regulations are met.
• Enhance Caterlink's reputation through excellent food and service.
• Oversee day-to-day running of the location; manage inventories and budgets.
• Serve as main client contact in the school; implement improvements.
• Communicate KPIs and financial targets with line manager; monitor progress.
• Lead training and development, ensuring performance is managed.
