Job summary

Caterlink Ltd is hiring a Chef Manager for Ashfield Junior School, Bushey, on a term-time basis. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, with £14.50 per hour and negotiable for the right candidate.

You will lead kitchen operations, supervise staff, manage inventories and budgets, and ensure Health and Safety and Food Safety compliance at the site. You will also act as the main client liaison and drive improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a kitchen team in a catering environment.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• Ability to manage inventories and budgets efficiently.
• Strong client liaison and service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and present food to Caterlink and client standards.
• Ensure site meets statutory and company Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements.
• Enhance Caterlink's reputation through excellent food and service and exceed expectations.
• Oversee day-to-day running, supervise teams, manage inventories and budgets, implement action plans.
• Be the main client contact in school, drive regular improvements and adjustments.
• Communicate with line manager to monitor KPIs and financial targets.
• Support and train teams, lead by example, ensure training and performance management.
