Job summary

Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking Relief General Kitchen Assistants to support Corneli Primary School and other sites across the county. The role pays £13.48 per hour and operates during term-time, 10.00am to 2.30pm, with training provided for the touch screen terminal and required safety procedures.

Applicants will need a Level Two Food Hygiene Certificate and an Enhanced DBS check. This is an occasional, as‑and‑when‑needed post with shortlisting and interview dates in November 2026.

Qualifications

• Assisting in preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Maintaining a safe, clean dining environment for pupils and staff.
• Willingness to cover across multiple schools within the county borough.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation, presentation and service of school meals.
• Lay out dining tables and chairs for service.
• Operate touch screen terminals where required; training provided.
• Support term-time only dining operations during mid-morning and lunch periods.
