Job summary

Herefordshire Council seeks a school crossing patrol at Aylestone Hill, Hereford, to assist children and pedestrians during term time. The role involves fixed two-hour daily shifts, with training and a supplied uniform, ensuring safe crossing at a busy road junction.

Applicants should demonstrate safety awareness, reliability, punctuality and clear communication with pedestrians and drivers. DBS clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance required.
• Ability to stay safe and observe surroundings at a crossing site.
• Reliable, punctual and able to communicate clearly with pedestrians and drivers.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Manage a crossing site at A465, Aylestone Hill, Hereford during fixed times.
• Supervise two hours per day: 08:00–09:00 and 15:00–16:00, term time only.
• Provide on-site training and wear the supplied uniform.
• Assist children and pedestrians and coordinate with road users for safety.
