Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting School Crossing Patrols for roles at various locations across the county. You will help children cross roads safely during morning and afternoon school journey times, using the stop sign and wearing the full uniform.

This permanent role involves two shifts per day, roughly 35 minutes each, totaling about 5 hours 50 minutes per week during term time. A DBS enhanced check is required, and you must be aged 18 or over.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 18 or over.
• Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions.
• Good understanding of road use and traffic awareness.
• Ability to use/handle equipment necessary for this role (lollipop).
• Safeguarding knowledge and commitment to child protection.

Responsibilities

• Stop traffic and operate the crossing for children and adults at school journey times.
• Wear the full uniform (hat and coat) and use the stop sign.
• Report incidents and accidents following Health & Safety procedures.
