Job summary

Chartwells is recruiting a Relief Chef Manager to travel to schools around Yorkshire, mainly Leeds, with your own car and mileage covered. This full-time role involves leading culinary teams, delivering high-quality meals, and ensuring client satisfaction within a market-leading education catering provider.

You will drive menu development, maintain hygiene standards, and contribute to ongoing food service innovation while supporting the brand and client relationships across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Leadership and team management experience in large-scale catering.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to engage with clients.
• Excellent communication at all levels including kitchen and client teams.
• High culinary standards with creative menu development mindset.
• Good financial awareness and cost control in a catering operation.

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to consistently improve our food services
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts
• Representing Chartwells and maintaining a positive brand image
• Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Satefty regulations
