Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting a School Chef to work across Leicestershire and surrounding areas, preparing nutritious meals for students in line with school dietary guidelines.

You will manage kitchen operations, lead kitchen assistants, handle food orders and stock, maintain hygiene, and adapt to term-time schedules across multiple sites.

A DBS check is required and the role offers competitive pay from £16.00 per hour with training and career development in a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Proven chef experience, ideally in educational or large-scale catering.
• Passion for healthy food and high presentation standards.
• Strong organisational and leadership skills.
• Willingness to work across school sites in Leicester.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and cook balanced meals in line with school dietary guidelines.
• Manage kitchen operations, including food ordering, stock control, and hygiene standards.
• Lead and support kitchen assistants to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment.
