Job summary

Impact Food Group in England is recruiting a Chef to support the onsite Chef Manager at a school setting. You will help prepare main meals and snacks for students and staff, using fresh, seasonal ingredients in a high-volume kitchen (200+ covers).

The role runs 39 weeks per year (term time plus inset days) with 7am-2:30pm shifts, 35 hours per week, and a salary of £24,080 per annum. A great work-life balance is offered with school holidays off and no evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, ideally within a school or contract catering environment.
• Passion for cooking with fresh ingredients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards.
• Reliability and pride in maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of main meals and snacks.
• Cook with fresh, seasonal ingredients for high-volume service (200+ covers).
• Support with occasional counter service and till work.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen and dining environment at all times.
