Job summary

Lancashire County Council’s Anderton St Josephs Primary School catering team seeks a Unit Catering Supervisor. The role is 30 hours per week, term-time only, with variable hours, at Anderton St Josephs in Chorley, focusing on high-quality meals and excellent service for pupils and staff.

Join our Catering Service to lead a dedicated team, ensure food safety, manage stock and deliveries, and provide nutritious meals that support learning and wellbeing in a family-friendly, school-based setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a catering team.
• Able to manage stock and costs.
• Good understanding of food service operations.
• Commitment to food safety and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and serving food and drinks in line with menus and production plans.
• Supervising catering team members.
• Ordering food and managing deliveries and stock levels.
• Maintaining records and stock control systems.
• Ensuring high standards of food safety, cleanliness and kitchen hygiene.
• Creating a welcoming dining experience for pupils and staff.
