Job summary

Lancashire County Council is seeking a Mobile Catering Assistant to support school meals in Blackburn with Darwen. This part-time, term-time only role offers 5 hours/week with a fixed term until 12/02/2027.

You will join a school kitchen team, helping to prepare and serve healthy meals for pupils and support lunch service across multiple schools. Ideal candidates are reliable, able to work well in a team, and show good customer service and initiative.

Qualifications

• Has previous catering and food-preparation experience, which is essential for this role.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
• Flexible, reliable and able to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Help serve nutritious school meals.
