Job summary

ISS is seeking a Catering Assistant to join a friendly school dining team in Haywards Heath. You will help prepare, present and serve healthy meals, maintain hygiene, and support a safe, welcoming lunchtime environment for students.

This role offers term-time-only work with annualised pay and monthly salary, with opportunities to learn and grow within ISS. Previous catering or customer-facing experience is desirable; you will follow procedures, handle allergens, and provide a courteous service

Responsibilities

• Support the preparation, presentation, and serving of meals.
• Set up and clear dining areas as required.
• Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness.
• Follow allergen, dietary, and special meal requirements.
• Receive, store, and handle food deliveries correctly.
• Operate tills where required.
• Report any health and safety concerns or equipment faults.
• Provide friendly and professional service to students, staff and visitors.
• Work collaboratively as part of the catering team to deliver an excellent customer experience.
