Job summary

HCL Saf safeguarding is seeking a Mobile Cook Manager to oversee kitchen operations across Bishops Stortford, Harlow, Ware, Broxbourne and surrounding areas during term-time. You will travel to schools to provide support, lead the kitchen team and deliver nutritious meals.

The role requires food safety knowledge, budget handling and a hands-on leadership style with a focus on safeguarding and high service standards.

Qualifications

• Flexible to travel to primary & secondary schools to provide support services as required.
• Lead and manage day-to-day kitchen operations in multiple sites.
• Prepare and deliver fresh, nutritious meals for pupils.
• Oversee stock control, ordering and budget management.

Responsibilities

• Ensure food safety, hygiene and health & safety regulations are followed.
• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Manage allergen awareness and cater for dietary requirements.
• Build strong relationships with staff, students and the school community.
• Maintain records (HACCP, temperature checks, audits).
• Inspire and develop the team to grow and thrive.
